A browser interface for a 30-year-old broadcast engine

Technical escalation point for Tier-1 broadcasters: NPR (US), Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, Bayerischer Rundfunk, NRK (Norway) and SR (Sweden). Led a cross-functional team of 5 that built an SDK and abstraction layer over a legacy, frame-accurate, zero-failure playout engine running thousands of live feeds, so modern browser-based frontends (JS/HTML/CSS) on the internal network could control it, even remotely. The hard part wasn't code. It was trust.

OutcomeSveriges Radio (Swedish Public Radio) engineers built their own touch-based studio interface on the new layer and ran real broadcast tasks on it. A closed legacy product became a platform customers extend themselves.

The canonical onboarding for a flagship live mixer

A 40-chapter video series for the eMotion LV1 live mixer, translating complex DSP and live-mixing workflows for a global user base. Supported top-tier customers with Waves products, among them Abbey Road, Universal, and Sony.

OutcomeAdopted by support and pre-sales as the canonical onboarding asset for years after release.

A community station that (almost) never went off the air

Co-founded a community webradio and ran its technical operations for over a decade: complete physical and IP infrastructure, custom playout and routing tools, and a zero-budget volunteer-led website rebuild.

OutcomeA decade of continuous operation, run by people I trained and supported. It has since earned enough of a following to be funded by a large base of patrons on Patreon.

About

I sit in the gap between deep technical systems and the people who need them to work. Canada-born, raised on Tel Aviv's independent culture scene, now at home in Berlin, with twenty years across broadcast engineering, technical support, production, and teaching. Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, class of 2011.

The pattern repeats: a powerful, complicated system on one side; skeptical, busy professionals on the other. My job has been to make the two trust each other, whether that meant convincing Tier-1 broadcasters that a web layer wouldn't break national radio, teaching hundreds of students to broadcast-grade standards, or running a platform that 40 show hosts relied on every single day. Seven years hosting prime time at Galgalatz (live, hundreds of thousands of listeners, no retakes) taught me what zero-failure feels like from both sides of the glass.

I build daily, hands-on, currently with agentic AI tools (Claude Code, Codex, Lovable, Ollama), mostly small tools that fix a problem I ran into in a studio somewhere.

Off the clock: vintage Hi-Fi, a deep record collection, headphones I review for fun, retro OS emulators, and odd little machines that move signals between the analog world and digital bits. GPIO FTW. (Time Out Tel Aviv once called me the city's “most beloved indie radio engineer.” I'll take it.)
